2026 is for slow living, Sapphire Coast style
Is it too late to send out a Happy New Year message?
Living in such a magical tourist town means that this time of year we are flat out looking after our guests. We've had Christmas, Boxing Day, that week where we don't know what day it is inbetween, then New Year's Eve followed by that other week where we don't know what day it is. Now we feel like we might have a moment to take a breath, and send out a heartfelt and very belated Happy 2026.
Merimbula and Pambula are buzzing with visitors, and our patrolled beaches are attracting plenty of people but what we love so much about here is that even on the busiest days, there is so much sand and plenty of room for people to spread out and enjoy the serenity. And our crystal clear sapphire waters are something we marvel at every day - we are truly blessed!
An insider tip - get out nice and early to beat the crowds, you'll also experience some amazing colours over the water as the sun greets a new day.
Our top three early morning walks are:
- Around Fishpen Merimbula with the loop from Main Beach near the basketball courts around to Mitchie's beach with coffee options at Mitchie's Jetty and coffee and amazing breakfast at Cranky Pants Cafe.
- Start at Bar Beach Merimbula and do the Lake Street walk then back to Bar Beach kiosk for coffee and breakfast, followed by a swim in the crystal clear water.
- Pambula Beach is a beautiful long, flat stretch of sand for walking and paddling and a beautiful place to swim - the waves here are great. There's a children's play area right beside the beach and the award-winning Toast Cafe have opened a kiosk with amazing coffee and food.
We've got a few new specials on offer starting mid January, so make sure you visit our Packages and Deals page on our website regularly, or follow us on social media for the latest updates!
Warmest regards
