Merimbula and Pambula

Nature-based adventures


If the great outdoors appeals to you, then you’ve come to the right place. Take a gentle stroll along the Merimbula Boardwalk, with a waterside coffee stop Sunny's Kiosk, walk around the community-tended Panboola Wetlands at Pambula or head into the hills and the clean country air among the mighty trees of the Sapphire Coast’s National Parks.

Golf

Perhaps you prefer your walk to be following a small white ball? Then you will find the Pambula Merimbula Golf Club just a 9-iron from our door and Tura Beach Country Club just a 10 minute drive away with outstanding ocean views, great meals and a stunning course.

Beaches

The beaches here are second to none. Dazzling white sand and clear blue water can be found just a short stroll from the Fairway Motor Inn. Catch a wave on Main Beach, sip a latte and watch the kids paddle at Bar Beach or hire a stand-up paddle board and explore the lake from Mitchies Jetty. They also have coffee! Pambula Beach is just a quick drive away, or hop on a bicycle and take the bike track that runs right past the Fairway Motor Inn

Retail therapy is close by in both Merimbula and Pambula, with a range of boutique shops, cafes, art galleries, eco-stores, restaurants. 

Fresh oysters

Oysters are always on the menu in Merimbula and Pambula and more often than not you can see where they were grown from your waterside table. Take a closer look at how they are farmed on a tour with Captain Sponge’s Oyster Tours, visit Pambula Lake for freshly-chucked oysters or sample fresh ones plucked from the lake, beautifully-prepared at Wheelers Seafood Restaurant right next door to our four-star accommodation.


South Coast Ale Trail

Stretching from for more than 370kms from Wollongong to Pambula near the Victorian border, the South Coast Ale Trail delivers a diverse range of Craft Breweries as it winds its way along some of the country's most beautiful Coast line. Take your time visiting the 9 craft breweries and discover all the amazing attractions on offer along the way. Remember the South Coast is not a destination, it's a journey !

There is loads of local produce, and a unique shopping experience at the local markets all around the Bega Valley. Ask when you book in what is on as we keep up to date with the markets and local events.

Festivals and events happen throughout the year including The Merimbula Jazz festival, Motorfest, EAT Merimbula, the Eden Whale Festival and Merimbula Kitesurfing Classic. There are also game, sport and amateur fishing competitions throughout the year, sand sculpting in the summer school holidays and regular track meetings at the Sapphire Turf Club.
