February went so quickly and now we are almost in mid-March. It has been such a wet month for Merimbula and Pambula and surrounding areas on the Sapphire Coast, and although some places have experienced flood damage, it has not been to the extent of people further north in NSW and Queensland.
As a region that has been through our fair share of natural disasters, the Bega Valley understands that the rebuilding process will be long and slow. People are incredibly kind and helpful for short-term relief, which is of a huge help. But the best thing you can do is visit their region as soon as businesses are back on their feet and spend money there, stay in their motels, eat in their cafes and restaurants and shop in their shops. Then visit again, and again. This is what has helped the NSW Sapphire Coast communities of Merimbula, Pambula, Tathra, Eden, Bermagui, Cobargo and all areas inbetween get back on its feet, and we sincerely appreciate our guests who return time and again to the Fairway Motor Inn!
Speaking of special guests, we get so excited when we have feedback and would like to thank Jane and Rowan for the email they sent after their stay in our four-star accommodation. You made our day!
"We enjoyed a most comfortable night at your Motel - large, airy and quiet room with great facilities. And thanks so much to the hosts for your welcoming and warm hospitality. Now definitely would recommend.”

Merimbula EAT Festival
We enjoyed glorious weather for Merimbula's annual EAT Festival, which showcases the amazing food available in our region. Held on the Victorian Labour Day long weekend and the ACT's Canberra Day long weekend, EAT creates a buzz like no other. With food and drink stalls set up along the beautiful waterfront at Fishpen, we loved seeing so many people enjoying the sunshine and being out and about. It's a credit to organisers and the businesses involved, and from a broader business perspective, many of us benefit from this influx of visitors and we are extremely grateful. We can't wait for next year!
